The German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) assumes responsibility for a variety of interdisciplinary tasks on behalf of its members (the German social accident insurance institutions). These include:

	Strategic cooperations with ministries, authorities and occupational safety and health (OSH) institutions at domestic and international level;
 - 
	The processing, editing and compilation of information across all areas of prevention;
 - 
	The coordination and management of guidelines, rules and informative publications drawn up by German social accident insurance institutions;
 - 
	The training and examination of labour inspectors;
 - 
	The training of OSH professionals;
 - 
	The establishment and coordination of expert committees on issues related to OSH and other specialist areas.
